Provenance: The collection of art dealer Emil Wang. Bruun Rasmussen auction 854, 2015 no. 99.

The famous Ionian poet, Anacreon, writes a love song about how he on a cold stormy winter night opens his door for a young boy and lets him warm up by the fire. The boy is Cupid, who pierces Anacreon's heart with his arrow.

Condition

Slightly brown. A small discolouration at the top edge. Mounted on paper. Examined in frame.
